What is the difference between the trial version of GreatDates and the full product.

The trial version has all of the functionality of the full product. However, the trial version has a limit of 5 events that can be created. After you purchase GreatDates, you will receive an Unlock Key that you can enter into GreatDates to remove the limit.

GreatDates Installation Notes:

Buy GreatDates. Download the GreatDates application. Unzip the downloaded GreatDates.zip file and save the product files to your system.

Note: Zip files are a very common way of packaging multiple files into one smaller file to reduce the download time and disk space requirements. If you don’t have a zip utility and would like to obtain one, two of the most popular are WinZip and StuffIt.  Both of these offer a free trial to check them out. However, if you don’t want to obtain a zip utility, please contact with your purchase information, mention that you don’t have a zip utility and ask to have the individual files mailed to you.

To add the GreatDates application with the Palm Install tool:

1. Open the Palm Desktop

2. Open the Install Tool.

3. Select your User ID (if you have multiple users sharing the desktop)

4. Click [Add]

5. Browse to wherever you saved the files.

6. Add the file GreatDates.prc

7. Make sure you add the correct icon sample file and Collection to match the resolution of your PDA’s screen. For example, high resolution icons require a PDA with a hi res screen.

Hi Res Color Screen - Add GD_Icons_HR.prc
Lo Res Color Screen - Add GD_Icons-LR.prc
GrayScale Screen - Add GD_Icons-GS.prc

8. Click [Done]

9. Perform a HotSync operation.

How do I enter the Unlock Key?

When you start GreatDates, a screen will popup teliing you it is an unregistered copy. Click on the “Register” button and the Unlock Key in the field labeled “Unlock Key”. You can also get to the Registration page by selecting “Register” from the menu on the “Home” tab of GreatDates.
